Resumen

La ecoendoscopia es un examen no sólo diagnostico sino terapéutico. En esta revisión se reseñan los avances logrados en este campo y la forma como se pueden incluir en la práctica diaria para beneficio de los pacientes: procedimientos menos invasivos asociados con menor morbilidad y mortalidad. Mediante la neurólisis se controla fácilmente el dolor, y con el uso de drenajes se puede eliminar todo tipo de colecciones alrededor del aparato digestivo.
